** GIVEAWAY CLOSED ****
Can people ever change? And even if they can, is it possible to forgive the past?
Robyn Harding who dazzled readers with THE PARTY is back with another smart thriller, HER PRETTY FACE (GalleryBooks/ScoutPress). It’s a domestic suspense novel about two women, whose friendship is threatened by long-buried secrets.
Frances Metcalfe is a stay-at-home mom whose troubled son is her full-time job. She thought the day her son got accepted into the elite Forrester Academy would be the day she started living her life. Overweight, insecure, and lonely, she is desperate to fit into the private school’s elite world. But after her son performs what is viewed a hideous act of revenge on a fellow student, the Metcalfes are ostracized and Frances feels more alone than ever before.
Until she meets Kate Randolph. Kate is everything Frances is not: beautiful, wealthy, powerful, and confident. And for some reason, she’s not interested in being friends with any of the other Forrester moms—only Frances. As the two bond over their disdain of the Forrester snobs and the fierce love they have for their sons, a startling secret threatens to tear them apart…because one of these women is not who she seems. Her real name is Amber Kunik. And she’s a murderer.
The pace is fast. The chapters flip between past and present while alternating between characters. Hold on to your seat! This is one fun ride! When does the movie come out?

Selfishly, my second book is one I’m excited to see in print (Crazy Little Town Called Love – out in July.) Otherwise, When The Lights Go Out, by Mary Kubica (out Labor Day weekend, so that counts as summer, right?) 🙂

I started out reading everybody’s comments, and I just couldn’t finish! I didn’t even make it, oh, maybe a third of the way through. I would have added so many books to my wish list! :p
I’m looking forward to reading “All That’s Left of Me” by Janis Thomas. It’s ~supposed~ to be arriving any day now. …And until that day comes, yes I WILL continue to check the mailbox more often than is necessary. 😉
