We fell in love with Amy Poeppel’s debut novel, SMALL ADMISSIONS. We loved reading about how to rich and famous are so incredibly neurotic about making sure their kids get into the “right” private school in New York City.

Then we were behind the scenes on Broadway in LIMELIGHT. Reading her book brought surprises and humor while making us all feel as if we were up on stage singing and hoofing on The Great White Way.

Amy celebrated some holiday cheer with us!

1. What is your favorite Holiday?    That’s a tough question, but I would have to say Thanksgiving is my favorite. I love everything about it because the day is all about spending time with family and eating wonderful food. Thanksgiving dinner is my favorite meal to cook. Here’s my kitchen, just before I started cooking last year:

2. What do you love about the Holidays?    I love any holiday that brings my family together. This year, my 90-year-old father is coming to visit us in New York City, and we’re taking him to see My Fair Lady at Lincoln Center. I can’t wait! I love holidays because we put work and worries to the side and enjoy each other’s company.

3. What is your fondest Holiday memory?    I remember as a child (way back in the seventies) my whole family came down with the flu on Christmas Day. That might sound terrible, but we all sat together in the living room, wearing pajamas the whole day. We felt lousy but had a wonderful time together. Also, we got these incredibly cool, round Panasonic AM radios, and I remember thinking that was the best thing I’d ever owned. Looks a little retro now.

4. What are your wishes for 2019?   I wish everyone health, happiness, and a wonderful year of reading! As always, I will try to find the humor whenever I can!
