Amy Blumenfeld’s articles and essays have appeared in various publications including The New York Times, The Huffington Post, O, The Oprah Magazine, Prevention, and on the cover of People.
Born and raised in Queens, New York. Amy graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University and received a master’s degree from the Columbia University School of Journalism where she was the recipient of the James A. Wechsler Award for National Reporting.
Amy has been interviewed on MSNBC, CBS Evening News, FOX News, and contributed to two non-fiction books. She has been a featured speaker for several national organizations and during one keynote address made Robin Williams laugh. It is one of her most treasured memories.
Amy lives in New York with her husband and daughter. The Cast is her first novel.

It’s hard to get everyone together but we manage little reunions fairly often. And my niece’s wedding a couple of years ago was a larger family group.

we almost never have reunions other than weddings and funerals. It’s often discussed, but doesn’t happen.

Difficult to get my family together. Last time was for my dads funeral. We should get together on a happier occasion.

We have had the pleasure of going to s family reunion on my side when my dad and his brother were still alive. It was the best time. All the new children, to meet and the older kids. It was a very special time for all. Great turn out too. Now so many have passed, so grateful

last “re-union” in my family was at my Dad’s burial in March. i saw some family members i hadn’t seen in years, so it was bittersweet.

We had a mini-reunion 2 weeks ago when everyone was back home for our niece’s wedding! Lots of family around!

It is hard to get our three boys together with work, family etc. This last Christmas was special because we all made it and had a great time of eating, playing games and just being a family.

I had a reunion in 2011 with my family after a long amount of years, and it was like stepping back in time, everything was the same, only the faces had aged, it was bizarre, but beautiful.

We have had no family reunions at all, but this weekend my sister who I haven’t seen in 8 years, her daughters and the 2 grandchildren will visit all of us. That is so special and meaningful since the cousins can meet and get to know each other.

I attended the hearing-impaired program during my early years through 8th grade. I kept in touch with a few classmates and one teacher. Several years ago after having found some friends on Facebook, one of the ladies hosted a reunion with all of our friends that had this one teacher in common. It was great seeing everyone and catching up.

There always family reunions my extended family hold but due to distance I haven’t always got to go. I went last year and it was amazing to see family I hadn’t seen in a few years.

My best friend since kindergarten Tammi and I went several years without visiting. We were busy with family and children. We scheduled a reunion dinner. We both were struggling with personal issues. Her situation was much worse than mine. She discovered that after raising all four of their children that her husband was having multiple affairs. She had to suffer through empty nest syndrome and a endure a divorce at the same time. We have now stayed in contact and make sure to make time for each other.

Every two years, three of us..high school friends…read a book and then travel where the book is based. As we all live in different states, this is our way of reuniting to celebrate 40+ years of friendship.
In June this year, we read two Vermont based books and rented a beautiful house on Lake Champlain and traveled all over the state and even up to Montreal. I highly recommend this form of “book club.”

This summer, a group of us from college rented a house in Nashville. For some of us, it had been 25 years since we last saw each other! We had such an amazing time together.

Ever time somebody gets married, its a family reunion. Fun events seeing everyone grow up and seeing people you haven’t seen in years. I tresure these events.

My family always tries to get a reunion going, but we have a large family and it seems near impossible to do it! The last one we had was 13 years ago, far too long!

I go from KY to SC when we have family reunions. A cousin organizes and as many as can try to be there.

Our family reunions are usually held in the mountains of Southern Colorado. It’s always fun to get together and now introduce my children to theirs.

A couple of months ago I went to a friend reunion. It was a group of us that worked at the same Company, but in different cities, and got to know each other that way. We’ve been doing it for years and it’s fun catching up with everyone.

Especially enjoy the bi-annual family reunions with our 15 cousins, since our mother and 4 aunts have passed away. It’s a great way to keep the 5 sisters’ memories alive through laughter, fun, and great food!

Now that my family lives in another country, we are so excited to have a family reunion and friends gathering again! But before we moved, we had lots of farewell reunions (every week) with our beloved friends =)

I had a reunion with my elementary school friends after I moved out of state. At the time, we were in junior high. We had so much fun including camping and sneaking into the city for a day!

I attended a wedding last summer of a good friend. It was like a college reunion with the group all together. Life gets in the way but it was just like old times seeing everyone!

Our first high school reunion the committee decided they only wanted to invite people they liked and knew and made it about them rather than invite everyone in the class. A lot of people werent happy about it including myself so I opted not to go and ended a friendship of ten years. I couldnt be friends with someone who obviously hadnt outgrown her high school mentality
