SOME WOMEN, NAL, Emily Liebert, Pub. Date: April 5th
Emily Liebert is easily one of every women’s favorite authors, who writes about women’s friendships. Her new novel, SOME WOMEN is another treat about marriage and friendship, with her signature twist.
Annabel Ford has twin boys and everything seems together and under control, until it isn’t. Hubby of ten years announces, out of the clear blue, he’s leaving and POOF! Piper Whitley has worked hard raising her daughter alone, while carving out a career as a respected crime reporter! But when it looks like she’s met the man of her dreams, absentee dad suddenly shows up.Mackenzie Mead is married to the heir of a media giant, and considers herself blessed. But with an annoying mother-in-law for a boss, and a husband who seems to be drifting, something has to change.
SISTER DEAR, Thomas Nelson, Laura McNeill, Pub. Date: April 19th
“All Allie Marshall wants is a fresh start. But when dark secrets refuse to stay buried, will her chance at a new life be shattered forever?”
Laura McNeill’s novels keep getting stronger and more compelling. The characters are richer and the plots more sophisticated and layered. Laura’s early novels seemed to focus on family and place. Her central character has always been a strong woman overcoming insurmountable obstacles, but now her storylines seem to have taken a turn toward the psychological thriller. So far she has shown a talent for writing that genre and I look forward to reading more.
THE CENTER RING, She Writes Press, Nicole Waggoner, Pub. Date: April 19th
Debut author, Nicole Waggoner is the newest lady on the block to enter the women’s friendships genre. In THE CENTER RING, she tells the story of five strong women who face ups and downs throughout their friendships. Nicole has a warm writing style and manages to capture the heartbreaks and complications of everyday life.
Nicole the author, is an incredibly positive person. I look forward to what she writes next!
THE YEAR WE TURNED FORTY, Washington Square Press, Liz Fenton & Lisa Steinke, Pub. Date: April 26th

Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke, the authors of THE STATUS of THINGS and YOUR PERFECT LIFE are back with a new novel THE YEAR WE TURNED FORTY that features three bestfriends who get to return to the year they turned forty.
That was a year of lots of changes, big and small, some that could change their future. It doesn’t take long to realize making changes to “fix” the past may not be all it’s cracked up to be.
THE GOODBYE YEAR, Sparkpress, Kaira Rouda, Pub. Date: May 3rd
USA Today Bestselling author, Kaira Rouda takes on a difficult time for both parents and their kids in THE GOODBYE YEAR. It’s senior year for students and parents are preparing for the last year before everyone moves on to the next stage of their lives. Mom, Melanie feels as if she’s experiencing a kind of death. Sarah realizes her daughter has been stepping in for her traveling husband, and the façade is about to crumble. It looks as if the truth may come out on Will’s secret life.
REMEMBER THE LADIES, Five Star Publishing, Gina L. Mulligan, Pub. Date: May 18th
REMEMBER THE LADIES by Gina L. Mulligan is set in the Gilded Age of the late 1800s when women’s struggle for equality had just begun. Growing up in an orphanage gave Amelia Cooke just the right backbone she needed when hired by the National Women’s Suffrage Association to help pass a proposed amendment granting women’s voting rights. As expected Amelia comes up against Washington’s Old Guard and Senator Edward Stillman desperate to hold on to power and determined to crush anyone in his way, including Amelia.
MODERN LOVERS, Riverhead Books, Emma Straub, Pub. Date: May 31st
You may remember NYT Bestselling author, Emma Straub’s hilarious novel, THE VACATIONERS. It was in just about everyone’s beach bag last summer. It’s about a tight-knit group of friends from college who take their kids on vacation. In MODERN LOVERS, everyone has grown up and is hitting middle age, while trying to hold on to their youth, while their kids flee to college. They all live within shouting distance of each other in gentrified Brooklyn amongst nosy neighbors. Straub makes it clear we never really change or lose our passions, they just grow along with us.
