I read some incredible news last week; producers began filming the fifth Jason Bourne film and Matt Damon is back as Jason Bourne. The story begins in Greece, travels all over Europe ending up in Las Vegas.
If you enjoy thrillers with complicated story lines, complex characters, political intrigue and lots of danger, THE FURY (Tantor) by Shane Gericke is for you. Those of you who regularly read my blog are thinking, “What? Where’d this come from?” Well, I decided to read something out of my comfort zone and I’m thrilled that I did.
THE FURY opens on the BP Deepwater Horizon platform just as its exploding in the middle of the Gulf of Mexico. From there, the story takes off at a break-neck speed. At the helm, Chicago Detective Superstition “Sue” Davis reeling from the recent murder of her decorated SWAT husband and allegations of her misconduct. She must infiltrate the Mexican narcotics cartel to find those guilty for his death. Soon doomsday bombs wash up on Mexican beaches, end up in cartel hands and her mission becomes even more dangerous.
Gericke has numerous plotlines going on at once, taking readers around the globe, skillfully marrying them at the end, creating a suspenseful climax. I enjoyed the character Gericke brought to life in Chicago Detective Superstition “Sue” Davis. She’s one tough broad and she takes no crap from anyone!
Hollywood should take notice: this is the kind of female character that should have her own movie franchise!
Thanks to TLC Book Tours http://www.tlcbooktours.com and Tantor Media we have one copy of THE FURY to give away. Just leave a comment telling us who your favorite action star is- male or female! We’ll pick a winner Monday!

I had to think about that for a few minutes. There are several that I like. There are several that I appreciate. Jason Bourne of course. James Bond of course. But here lately I have been watching old movies that are a series action type thing and I remembered how much I loved Bruce Willis as John, the New York cop. Not to mention how young Bruce looks in those movies!

Bonnie, I LOVE the DIE HARD franchise. I watch those movies every time they’re on TNT. “Yippy Kai Yai ______” FYI: Bruce is about to debut on Broadway this season for the FIRST time!

I see that someone else likes Bruce Willis. I first discovered him in Moonlighting. Although he has projected as being a bad boy, he definitely has a soft side. I saw his proud dad with tears moment when his daughter participated in the Dancing With the Stars. I loved him in most if not all of his action films.
